The Puget Sound Campus Center supports students within our Seattle City Center that attend Bellevue College, Clover Park, Cornish, Highline, and SPU. With the mission to forge a link between students and professionals, events and activities support their growth and schooling through local and regional charettes, built environment tours, portfolio reviews, and networking.

All Positions Responsibilities

Must be an IIDA Student Member in good standing

Attend Summer Planning Retreat in September
-
Attend PSCC Council Meetings (monthly on the 2nd Friday of each month of the school year)

Attend PSCC Campus Center events
-
Assist in planning a minimum of (1) Campus Center event per year
-
Encouraged to attend Chapter events throughout the year
-
Encouraged to promote IIDA membership
Note that open positions include: Student Council President, Membership Chair, Campus Center Ambassadors, Event Volunteer
Student Council President
-
Create an agenda for all (7) council meetings and distribute to council members by 11:59pm on the day before the meeting. Distribute meeting invites at least four weeks before meeting date

Lead all council meetings and, with support from Campus Center Director and VP of Campus Centers, plan all council meetings (both in-person and virtually meetings are encouraged)

Oversee all aspects of the Campus Center Council to ensure members are fulfilling the requirements of their positions and representing the Campus Center in a professional manner

Communicate regularly with the Campus Center Director and the VP of Campus Centers
-
Be available / accessible to council members for assistance with their roles and responsibilities. Be communicative

Explore ways to improve Campus Center

Promote Membership on Campus
-
Create meeting invites for all Campus Center events and assist in distribution of virtual event Zoom links as needed (coordinate with Events Chair)
-
Assist in planning the summer planning retreat in September with support form the Campus Center Director and VP of Campus Centers
Events Chair
-
Act as project manager for all Campus Center events by meeting with event planning teams at least 12 weeks before their event to review planning documents, budget, and deadlines
-
Create and publish event registration pages and ensure that event details are shared over Quicknews
-
Ensure that Social Media Chairs, Membership Chairs, and Campus Center Ambassadors have access to event details to begin promotion
-
Work closely with Campus Center Director and Campus Center President to ensure success of Campus Center events
-
Check-in with each event planning team weekly during the planning of their event to ensure that deadlines are met, notes are being taken, and planning documents are completed
-
Cross reference PSCC event dates with Chapter events to ensure there are no conflicts
-
Possess excellent organizational skills

Take and file notes at all student council meetings
Membership Chair
-
Update and maintain the IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter Student Membership Presentation
-
Promote membership by being available to greet potential new members and answer membership questions at student events and on campus
-
Membership Chairs will be expected to work through the membership presentation and become familiar with the content
-
Promote PSCC events to PSCC schools with the support of Campus Center Ambassadors
-
Work closely with Campus Center Ambassadors to brainstorm creative ways to engage students and increase involvement at student events
-
Reach out to student attendees to involve them in upcoming events and opportunities
-
Build relationships with PSCC schools and students
-
Promote Membership on Campus
-
Check-in with the VP of Membership as needed
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Chair
-
Build an understanding of PSCC student needs
-
Explore ways to promote JEDI initiatives and share insights with council members during Campus Center Council meeting
-
Research potential event venues / platforms and share findings with event planning teams
-
Meet with each event planning team to discuss ways to host a more inclusive event (this should be well before the event date)
-
Work closely with event planning teams and Campus Center President to ensure that PSCC events are accessible and enjoyable for all
-
Research DEI best practices
-
Check-in with VP of JEDI and support their team as needed
Advocacy Chair (WA State Legislation)
-
Educate fellow students and student council members on the progress of Washington State legislation in relation to the interior design profession and share ways to get involved
-
Check-in regularly with Washington Director of Advocacy and Advocacy committees
-
Distribute important information to fellow student council members
-
Distribute Northern Pacific Chapter Advocacy-related events to students and student council members
-
Become familiar with CIDQ and the NCIDQ Examination and how both relate to Advocacy
Communications Chair
-
Work closely with Campus Center Director and VP of Campus Centers to ensure all internal and external print and digital communication is well-polished, completed in a timely manner, and maintains the IIDA brand/image
-
Develop event graphics and promotional content that follow the IIDA brand and guidelines developed by VP of Communications
-
Send all graphics for approval (a list of approvers will be provided)
-
Explore new ways to communicate the Campus Center brand
-
Work closely with Social Media Chair to exchange ideas and support one another
Social Media Chair
-
Manage the sharing of PSCC events and happenings on social media via stories, event photos, event reminders
-
Share updates and goals with council members during Campus Center Council meetings
-
Explore creative ways to engage students via social media
-
Upload event photos to social media in a timely manner. This will involve coordination with other council members to gather content
-
Work closely with Communications Chairs to ensure activity on social media
-
Coordinate with the VP of Communications when necessary to ensure that students are represented on the Northern Pacific Chapter social media pages
Campus Center Ambassador
-
Keep the IIDA Campus Center Council informed of school-related news by making announcements at the monthly council meetings (i.e. calendar conflicts, school events, school breaks, etc.)
-
Promote IIDA events at your school and share helpful information with peers and professors regarding IIDA
-
Work closely with Membership Team and other Ambassadors to brainstorm creative ways to engage students and increase involvement at student eventi
-
Ideally there will be (1) Ambassador per PSCC school
Event Volunteers

Assist with event planning and support the Events Chair
-
Expected to be available for day-of help for all PSCC events including event set up and take down
