Legislative Advocacy Support - Level 7
Interior design regulation at the state level establishes professional standards that protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. IIDA believes that legal recognition - through registration and certification - brings consistency to the profession, clarifies the responsibilities of interior designers in code regulated spaces, and promotes excellence in the field. The IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter Advocacy Committee works to advance interior design legislation in Alaska, Idaho, and Washington. Through grassroots initiatives, education, and evidence-based dialogue, the Committee raises awareness of the profession among both professionals and the public, with a focus on legislation and practice rights for commercial interior designers.
