About the Event
The Consortium of Interior Design Washington - a partnership between IIDA NPC, ASID WA, and CIDQ - is leading legislative efforts to advance the regulation and recognition of Commercial Interior Designers in Washington. For the past 10 months, we’ve collaborated with the AIA Washington Council on proposed legislation to establish the Registered Commercial Interior Designer (RCID) designation. The bill is slated for introduction in the 2026 legislative session. Our goal is to ensure this designation upholds the integrity of our profession while protecting public health, safety, and welfare. Recognizing the rigorous education, experience, and examination that define our practice, this effort affirms the vital role Commercial Interior Designers play in shaping safe, code-impacted environments. Legal recognition strengthens our profession, reinforces accountability, and elevates standards across the design community. Register today to add your voice to this important movement, and review the draft bill before the Town Hall.
