About the Event
Come join IIDA Seattle this upcoming Earth Month in Volunteering with Furniture Repair Bank!
RSVP Required as there is limited space.
The afternoon starts with onboarding and safety instructions. The larger group will be divided into smaller groups of 5-8 people and spread across different parts of the restoration process.
Tools, PPE, guidance, and techniques will be provided. Possible tasks may include: Sanding, paint stripping, painting/staining, disassembly or fabric removal, seat upholstery/stapling.
It is recommended to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty as some tasks may be messy. Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with no heels higher than one inch are required. In colder seasons it is encouraged to wear layers as the location is in a high-ceiling, warehouse-type space.
