Description of Keynote event:

As stewards of the built environment, designers are pivotal in helping others understand how they can best identify their needs to live and thrive within it.

Tapping into this human experience is our first and foremost role with those we serve; forming trust and real connection becomes the foundation of successful design that endures.

But how do we ensure we’re leading with authenticity throughout our processes? We’ll discuss means of creating this through connection to place, engaging the senses, developing the ability to read and control the emotional temperature of the room, and how to design with empathy and compassion at the forefront.

INW CAMPUS CENTER PANEL DISCUSSION: “Interior Design Legislation and Why It Matters”

Presented by the INW Campus Center, and moderated by IIDA NPC President Matt Thompson, join design professionals from the region discuss the importance of interior design legislation and current legislative efforts in WA, ID, and AK. This event is open to students and professionals. Admission is free for all.

This year the Interior Design team at WAG have designed an interactive space in collaboration with our Chapter Patrons, to create a space to recharge, socialize, connect, and learn. Our WA & ID Advocacy teams will be on hand to talk about the future of ID legislation (and how you can help!). In addition, our IIDA NPC VP of DEI Thu Do, IIDA, RA will be available to discuss what diversity, equity, and inclusion means and the many ways we can improve the workplace, community, and our profession by implementing its principles.
