We are looking for a mid-level Interior Designer to work on a variety of commercial interior architecture projects across broad markets from corporate offices to retail, healthcare, hospitality and education. You may contribute to the design as a team member on larger projects or work more independently under the supervision of a project manager or principal for smaller design projects.    

 

Responsibilities 

  • Completing full design packages from programming through construction administration 

  • Developing space plans that are thoughtful, creative, viable and meet the client’s goals and aesthetic 

  • Participating in, and at times lead, client and internal project visioning and meetings 

  • Developing and writing basic furniture packages 

  • Executing comprehensive lighting specifications and plans 

  • Creating and delivering finish presentations 

  • Completing site verifications and site surveys 

  • Preparing full set of construction documents 

  • Assisting project managers with construction administration

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture 

  • 5+ years of experience in the design and construction of commercial interior architecture spaces 

  • Strong graphic and visualization skills 

  • Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and direction verbally and visually 

  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with coworkers, clients and other key stakeholders 

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations 

  • Strong documentation and field observation skills 

  • Ability to interpret and incorporate abstract concepts into concise, accurate drawings and details 

  • Initiative, attention to detail and follow-through 

  • Excellent time management and organization skills 

  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines for multiple, fast-paced projects 

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • 3-7 years’ experience in Interior Design, preferably in K-12 or higher education markets 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent 

  • Proven experience in Revit, SketchUp, and/or other 3D modeling software programs

  • Experience in all phases of design (including but not limited to: schematic design, design development, and construction documentation)

  • Proven experience in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)

  • Working knowledge of building codes related to interior environments.

  • Working knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications 

  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through verbal and written communication

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • NCIDQ certification preferred

THE POSITION: 

The Account Manager position requires regular interaction with clients to plan and execute furnishing projects. Clients include end users, Architecture & Design firms and Project Managers. Full time position with offices open Monday-Friday 8:30-5, occasional evening and weekend work as needed. 

This account manager position will be based in our Missoula, MT office and requires occasional travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Mithun seeks an inspired individual with a passion for sustainable design and architectural materials to curate the firm’s Materials Lab supporting our integrated practice of interior designers, architects and landscape architects. The Materials Lab is an innovative materials library and workshop to inspire designers of all disciplines, foster design dialogue, pique curiosity and discovery and embody our firm’s passion for sustainability and health.

Responsibilities for the Materials Specialist include curating and maintaining the Materials Lab, researching innovative products and systems, working with project teams and supporting firm initiatives, building relationships with materials representatives to ensure the materials lab is a true representation of the Mithun brand and ethos, scheduling and organizing learning opportunities, tracking material performance, forecasting future trends, ordering and organizing samples and sharing passion and knowledge of materials with the firm.
