Capitol Hill's Black Lives Matter Mural was created in early June by Seattle-based BIPOC artists in the formerly CHAZ/CHOP zone on Pine Street. The original dimensions for the letters came from North Carolina's Black Lives Matter Mural and was sketched out using sidewalk chalk in just five short hours. The letters were then filled in with white primer and a water-proofer, which allowed the artists to gather and paint murals on each of the letters. The cost of the supplies to paint the murals was covered by the community – from demonstrators to people just walking by the piece. Each artists' Instagram can also be found above where additional donations can be made for their time and art. The piece was completed on June 11th and remains a powerful message in the heart of the city.
