Outreach

IIDA NPC reaches out to our members, to the industry and to our community, through meaningful programs, better communication tools and more collaboration with other organizations.

Community Service Programs through Membership Involvement

Last year the Membership committee of the NPC developed a Community Service Program through our Seattle City Center, we look forward to continuing our outreach efforts through 2010 and beyond! Starting from where Rebuilding Together left off, we provided four volunteer opportunities in 2009. This gives our chapter the opportunity to work with local non-profit organizations and build strong relationships with each other and our community.

  • March 24th- Jubilee Women’s Center – Prepare, serve, and share a meal with 34 residents
    • Dedicated to providing women a safe and supportive place to live and an opportunity to learn while becoming self-reliant in housing and employment. Visit: jwcenter.org
  • May 6th -VSA Arts of Washington – Art Spring at Seattle Center – Assist adults with a variety of art projects.
    • Dedicated to providing art opportunities to persons with disabilities. Visit: vsarts.org
  • August 15th-EarthCorps – Help with plant removal, clean-up and planting at Seward Park.
    • Dedicated to building global community through local environmental restoration service. Visit: earthcorps.org
  • November/December - TBD

The selection process was based on our chapter goals and interests such as housing and homeless, arts and education and the environment. These opportunities provide IIDA members to be hands on with smaller less funded local non-profit organizations. The committees’ intention is to find new organizations each year and welcomes comments, ideas and suggestions. Each event will be posted on the website with sign-up online. Detailed information will be forth coming on each event, via QuickNews and Website.
