Membership Categories
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) works to advance the value of the interior design and its practitioners as well as to cultivate leadership within the profession. By joining the more than 10,000 members in more than 30 Chapters around the world, you are making the decision to be an informed member of the design community.
The categories below are provided to aid you in understanding the appropriate membership for you.
Individual Membership
- Professional Members have fulfilled IIDA’s requirements for education and experience and have passed the NCIDQ. Appellation: Name, IIDA
- Associate Members are qualified in both education and experience like Professional Members, but have not passed the NCIDQ. Appellation: Name, Assoc. IIDA
- Affiliate Members represent related design disciplines such as landscape or graphic design.
Industry Membership
Industry members are those individuals or companies who provide a product or service to the A&D community. Appellation: Name, Industry IIDA
- Individual Industry Members is membership for one (1) individual
- $900 Industry Level is a Company membership, which includes three (3) individuals
- $3,500 Industry Level is a Company membership, which includes seven (7) individuals
- $5,000 Industry Level is a Company membership, which includes fifteen (15) individuals
- $7,500 Industry Level is a Company membership, which includes thirty (30) individuals
Each company must provide a roster of individuals who will hold the memberships. To find out if you are listed on your company roster we can help you connect with your company contact. If the roster is full, additional rep’s may be added for a fee.
Student Membership
IIDA Students Members are actively enrolled in design school. IIDA recognizes the importance of these future designers and targets Students with the information and events that will begin a successful career.
Educator Membership
- Professional Educator Members are full time educators and design professionals have proof of certification date (or test results) by the NCIDQ. No other exams are accepted. Architects have proof of either state architectural registration or documentation of successful completion of the NCARB exam, and documentation of six years experience in interior design exceeding those areas tested by the NCARB exam.
- Associate Educator Members are full time educators, and have met the educational requirements of the NCIDQ, but have not yet completed the exam.
International Membership
IIDA Students Members are actively enrolled in design school. IIDA recognizes the importance of these future designers and targets Students with the information and events that will begin a successful career.
