From forest to furniture, this hour-long presentation will expose the design professional to the materials and craftsmanship of fine wood veneer office furniture.  Background and technical information of materials and construction techniques commonly used will be provided.  The class is presented with a balance of lecture and hands-on exercises.

#4301 The Evolution of Organizations (.1 CEU) Jan Johnson, VP of Design and Workplace Resources, Allsteel 5:45-6:45 pm
This discussion will demystify “corporate culture” - what it is, how it can be identified and described, how and why it changes over time, AND how we as designers can successfully use this information  - by introducing a wonderfully simple model from cultural anthropologists. A second model from the world of business also describes how organizations change over time as reflected in their management styles. These two models help us to more thoroughly understand our clients’ unique personalities and priorities, and how they’re likely to change over time - extremely useful as we design workplaces that fit or help a client to deliberately change.

Special thanks to Commercial Office Interiors, for hosting this event.  We look forward to sharing our knowledge with you.  RSVP here now!
