Textiles 101 CEU The South Sound City Center would like you to mark your calendars now for the Textiles 101 CEU, sponsored by The Hon Company, on Wednesday, September 27th, at 6:00 p.m. The program will be a primer covering the chemical properties, physical properties, and performance attributes of both natural and synthetic fibers. It will also cover the basics of test guidelines from the Association of Contract Textiles (ACT). Presentation is worth 0.2 CEU. Cost is $25 for members, $40 for non-members, $15 for students. 5th Annual “Pioneers” This Week! This year we are excited to have guest speaker Doug Varey, Founder, President and Design Director of RESOLUTE Lighting at our 5th Annual "Pioneers" event on Thursday, September 28th, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Doug will share his personal history of industrial design and how that impacted the thought behind Resolute products. Resolute is a local manufacturer of handblown glass lighting with clean, simple designs with the ability to customize the products to fit individual specifications. Appetizers and beverages will be served. The event is being held in the Penthouse Room at the offices of Turner Construction Co. in SODO (830 4th Avenue South, Suite 400, Seattle).
