Custom Yacht Design Presentation

Please join the South Sound City Center and the Mt. Rainier Chapter of CSI at The Vault in Tacoma on Thursday, September 7th, at 5:30pm. The dinner speaker will be Scott Cole of Ardeo Design on Bainbridge Island, an experienced yacht designer, who will be speaking on the design and construction process of building custom yachts. Presentation Skills for the Designer CEU

The South Sound City Center would like you to mark your calendar now for the Presentation Skills for the Designer CEU on September 25th and 26th from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Presentation Skills for the Designer offers live "in the game" activities in a non-threatening, mutually supportive venue. The focus of the class is to develop poise in front of a medium-to-large audience (5-20 individuals). Primary skills include developing content, targeting your message to your audience, and effective partnering techniques. Presentation is worth 1.6 CEU. Space is limited. Textiles 101 CEU

The South Sound City Center would like you to mark your calendar now for the Textiles 101 CEU on Wednesday, September 27th, at 6:00pm. This will be a primer covering the chemical properties, physical properties, and performance attributes of both natural and synthetic fibers. It will also cover the basics of test guidelines from the Association of Contract Textiles (ACT). Presentation is worth 0.2 CEU. Cost is $25 for members, $40 for non- members, and $15 for students. Save The Date for Pioneers

The Seattle City Center is pleased to invite you to our annual “Pioneers” presentation to be held Thursday, September 28th, from 5:30 to 8:30pm.  This year we are excited to have Doug Varey, founder of Resolute Lighting, as our guest speaker. Doug will share his experiences from starting his business and discuss how lighting plays an important role in creating spaces with impact. The event will be held at the South Lake Union Discovery Center. Ticket prices are $40 for members, $55 for non-members, $20 for student members, and $35 for student non-members. Additional information regarding ticket purchase will be available soon.


Save the Date for the 4th Annual INawards

The Northern Pacific Chapter of IIDA will host the 4th Annual INawards celebration to be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at the Premier in Seattle's SODO neighborhood. The IIDA INawards recognize excellence in the field of interior design. This event will celebrate interior design at its very best--challenging design that generates new knowledge, utilizes new technologies, and embraces forward thinking and collaborative design.

The 2006 INawards competition will be moderated by Cindy Allen, Editor in Chief of Interior Design magazine. INawards encourages all design professionals within the IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter area (Alaska, Idaho, Washington, Alberta, and British Columbia), and without regard to professional society affiliation, to participate in the 4th annual INawards competition. Event Registration will be available September 1, 2006.
