Testimonials

Through my involvement with IIDA, I have been able to link employment opportunities with skilled, unemployed professionals within our industry.  Being recognized as part of the fabric of our community gives a sense of accomplishment to me that goes far above the satisfaction I received from just doing the job.

Congratulations to WSU Spokane's Weng Hei Au for winning FIRST PLACE in the IIDA Student Sustainable Design Competition!!!  This competition was created to recognize and celebrate outstanding design projects from students whose work advocates the principles of environmentally responsible design. In addition to winning $1500, Weng will be featured on the IIDA Student Blog and on www.iida.org as well as receiving an IIDA membership sponsored by the NPC Chapter.

Being a participant in IIDA’s NPC chapter has enriched my interior design education to a completely new level.  I have found myself frequently wondering about the transition between higher education and professional design work, and that is exactly where IIDA has come in; this exceptional group of students and professionals has come together, and by bridging the gap between college and the professional realm, made my learning of this career much more cohesive. What I find truly exceptional of the NPC chapter is the willingness of professionals to collaborate with students; an environment has been created that allows a sharing of design knowledge, one that is unattainable in the classroom. Being a student participant in this chapter has skyrocketed my understanding of what it means to be an interior designer, and I feel has truly advanced me in the field.
